Video Art "A Place to Feel Safe"

Stop Motion Animation

A Place to Feel Safe is a short stop-motion video by Joanne Braddy. Using clay figures and fragile, handmade sets, the piece traces the emotional landscape of living with chronic illness, anxiety, and pain. Quiet, delicate, and deeply personal, it offers a window into the experience of being housebound — where everyday moments like sunlight or birdsong become lifelines.

Made entirely by hand, the stop-motion builds on Braddy’s background in sculpture. Over time, she has moved from painting to ceramics and now to video, driven by a growing wish to bring her inner world to life and share it with others.
